Glan-Y-Gors Round 3, April 2009
Qualifying > I just went for it at the start of qualifying as I knew that I had to get a good time in for this qualifying. I got straight to it and set a 43.77 on lap 4. This wasn't enough so I just carried on putting in quick laps, in the hope that I would get quicker. I eventually got it down to a 43.68, which put me third.
Heat 1 > At the start of the first heat I managed to move up from third into second, by passing Jacob Hunstone (no.33). I held this position although I didn't have the pace to catch Joe Charlton (no.51) at the front. On the last lap Jacob passed me down the straight to re-take 2nd. I finished third and my fastest lap was a 43.75.
Heat 2 > In the second heat I started from 3rd spot. I managed to pass Joe at the start, and chased Jacob Hunstone for the lead, although I just didn't have the outright speed to keep up, and slowly dropped back into the clutches of Joe, who managed to re-pass me on lap 6. I finished third and my best lap was a 43.69.
Final > In the final I started third, and as the two CAT racing drivers Joe and Jacob pulled away, I did my best to keep up, although they didn't pull away much, maybe just about a tenth a lap. Towards the end of the race Jacob tried to pass Joe for the lead, almost taking him out, but Joe responded and went quicker, dropping Jacob back. My fastest lap was a 43.70.
