Glan-Y-Gors Round 8, September 2008

Qualifying > I qualified on pole for this nearly straight away as the tyre pressures were quite high, but I came in after a while because the track was drying and I didn't want them to shred.

Heat 1 > For heat 1 I got a great start and pulled away, and as it was wet there was a huge puddle on the right hand side of the straight, which I narrowly avoided, luckily as it was very deep. Over the rest of the race I pulled away and won by 6.53 seconds, my fastest lap a 51.39.

Heat 2 > Heat 2 was relatively simple as I started on pole although Stevie Hargreaves (no.46) never really dropped behind me and I won by 1.09 seconds. My fastest lap was a 48.94.

Final > I started on pole for the final, for which I was on slicks, although one corner was still a little bit damp. I had to lift a little to stop myself from sliding into Stevie who started in second, as it was still damp offline. I held back until the carousel, and as Stevie slid wide on the damp patch, I used this to my advantage as I had seen what was damp/dry, so I drove around the outside of the corner (the part that was the driest at the time) and passed him. I soon made a gap and on lap 6 I saw that Stevie had come off, and he wouldn't be carrying on, as he was out of his kart and sitting on the grass. This left me out in front by about 10 seconds and towards the end of the race I backed off to make sure that nothing went wrong or I came off, and won by 9.78 seconds.
