Glan-Y-Gors Round 4, May 2008
Qualifying > I started off as normal, heating up my tyres and my engine, then after a few practice laps, posted a fast time of 44.04. This put me first, and then I went faster again after a while to claim first with a 43.82.
Heat 1 > I had a good start. I was never troubled by anyone in this race, and it allowed me to create a gap of 5.03 seconds, and set the fastest lap with a 44.57.
Heat 2 > In this heat I started on pole again, and had a reasonable start but slowly edged away from Joe Charlton (no.51) and Declan Jones (no.16) who were battling for second place, eventually finishing 2.10 seconds ahead, my fastest lap a 43.92.
Final > I had a bad start after being constantly bashed from behind by Declan, and my back wheels were off the ground coming across the start line, allowing Joe to get ahead, but not allowing him to start making a gap, Declan behind me, as the three of us left the pack, and by lap 4, it had started raining. On slicks there was extremely limited grip so we slithered about, and after Joe went wide, I managed to pass him for first place, and in the damp conditions I opened a gap of 2.11 seconds. When the track dried I held that gap until the finish, my fastest lap a 44.09.
