Glan-Y-Gors Round 5, June 2006
For this meeting there was only 1 other novice that I had to beat, who was slightly slower than me, enabling me take the novice trophy quite easily.
Heat 1 > In the second heat of the day so far, I started 11th. On the first lap, I had made it up to 7th overtaking 45, 92 and 93. By the next lap I had made it to 5th place following no 62 who is normally the quickest around GYG, but I didn't have the speed or experience to overtake around many corners. On the last corner at the end of lap 4, the chain broke on no 62 (going over kerbs I should think) promoting me to 4th place which I kept until the end of the heat.
Heat 2 > In this heat I started 11th and at the end of the first lap I had made it to 8th place. I made up a place on the next lap, then another place by the end of the following lap, then remaining in 6th place until the end of the heat.
Heat 3 > I started 9th in this heat and got to 6th through the first lap. In four laps time though I was up to fourth. I made a banzai move to get up to 3rd place and kept that position for the remaining laps.
Final > In the final I started in 4th position. I had a good start and made it up to third overtaking no.46. I stayed in 3rd until no.62 made it past me along with no.47. I tried to overtake no.47 at the same time as no.62 but 47 closed the door and I stayed in 4th until the finish.
